Last day, misty 72 F or 22 C

Slept for a few hours and got up early, nice cuppa on the balcony watching the fog disappearing to the sea.

From July 17

From July 17

Today is our last day, I have loved the beach and enjoyed the change of scenery but am happy to go back home and sleep in my own bed again.
We need to do some last minute shopping and decide to pick up some ‘outlandish’ cigars for son in law from the Indian tobacco store after a stop at the ‘espresso’ standwe head back to Tokeland Indian reservation. They have some funny stuff here, real interesting flavored cigars and nice artwork. It never stops to amaze me how here in the US run down store buildings where you normally in Europe would think twice before going in, turned out to be wonderful stylish modern decorated stores. But on the outside it looks horrible! I guess they live on word of mouth or so because the outside is not an advertisement for their business.

I had great fun looking at all the Indian memorabilia, there were some wonderful pieces of art, beyond my budget of course. But I went home with 6 packs of interesting cigars that I’m sure he will enjoy every now and than. At least they will be a great conversation starter. ;-)

After that we went back to Westport and shopped some more at the boardwalk, found a small patio were we could eat with the dogs and were they sold fish and chips. We decided to walk the trail that starts at our condo and end here at the boardwalk to walk from this side. We didn’t do the last piece of it and I was hoping to find some shells to take home. W. climbed the view tower and took some pictures and than we walked and strolled for a bit. No such luck with the shells, so I guess I will have to do with the sand dollars W. found for me when he was doing a beach run with Fynn pup.

Photos of the path true the dunes and view from the tower.

Home for siesta for me and packing and preparing for the drive home tomorrow.

This area is real nice and paradise if you have dogs, they are allowed to run free on the beach and as you can see we had mostly the beach for ourselves and this was in July! As far as humans are concerned we enjoyed the few days of rest, peace and quiet but a bit more attractions or things to do would have been nice. It was a pity a lot of restaurants, shops and cafes were boarded up because of the bad economy, that didn’t make the area more attractive. We love to eat out on vacation but there was no decent restaurant open in the neighborhood. Restaurants that only open on the weekends I tend to avoid like the pest. From my own restaurant experience I know that they don’t always use fresh ingredients when only open on weekends, trash sometimes sits for a week inside and basically it’s just unsanitary and salmonella or food poisoning waiting to happen.

All in all I can recommend the Westport area if you have dogs that love the beach, there are plenty of condos that allow pets and for small children it can be a blast too!

My next vacation will hopefully be more ‘human’ oriented, I had a ball with the pups but sometimes you just want to do some grown up things. ;-)

Till next time!

Today warm with 75 F or 23 C.!

I did not sleep a wink, kept dozing off but could not find a comfortable spot on the bulky mattress. I absolutely hate beds strange beds!

Today we made the mistake of checking out Aberdeen. Very disappointing. It is a dirty run down small town the town is famous for being the birth place to grunge music style. Aberdeen is the birth place of Curt Cobain and if you have ever seen Cobain and if you have been to Aberdeen your will know that the two of them are surprisingly similar.

We walked the ‘touristic’ pathway along the river, which could have been nice if not for the chemical factories on the other side of the river and the highway on the other side of the path. A special ship that was rebuild after a model that was used when they discovered Aberdeen and the west of WA was suppose to be moored there but it wasn’t. It’s a museum ship and I have no idea where it went but we couldn’t visit it of course.

I had one address that said it was a very nice home bakery with lovely tarts and pies, we stopped there and took home some of the goodies and that was it! The US version of Aberdeen can’t compare itself to the original Aberdeen, which is a lovely lovely place! it’s a shame it’s so run down, I guess this economy doesn’t help to improve the city’s attempt to clean up either.

On our way home we decided to stop by the harbor, we saw signs along the road that said Tuna was on sale in the harbor. So we went and had a look at how much it would cost. Bought whole tuna for $30! Big Tuna, now have to think of ways how to bring home rest of tuna after we have cut of some nice steaks for tonight.

Photos below speak for themselves ;-) They are taken with my iPhone so they're not the best quality. Click on any of them to see the larger format.

Meal was absolutely wonderful. We watched the sunset from the balcony with a nice espresso and than SYTYCD on TV and off to bed.

Tomorrow is our last day, want to buy some souvenirs on the boardwalk and a present for my new son in law who has a birthday coming up.
Hope I will get at least some sleep tonight, I am really exhausted!

Weather is back to the 60’s F or 15C at least for now, it is gray and windy.

We don’t plan on doing much today, I will go down to the clubhouse and see if I can update my blog using their wifi. It’s the first time we’re on vacation to a place that doesn’t have internet and I must say it’s a handicap. Not that I want to check my messages all the time, I can do that with my iPhone if I wanted to, but quickly looking up some tourist information and finding nice spots to go to is not available either. I miss that.

So I’m off to the clubhouse now and we’ll see if I get some of my blogs uploaded. More later....

True, there was wifi at the clubhouse but boy it was like slow and thick as molasses. I replied to a few *panic* messages, I have about a 1000 messages and have only been gone for a few days. That’s what you get if you forget to set your mailing lists to no-mail! Tried to send my blog entries but that didn’t work, it seem to take forever so I quit and will upload them once we’re home. I’m using MacJournal a nice application to keep a journal or a blog, you can add and record messages or all kinds of media and upload/sync with the blogger server later. It’s handy and was well worth the money ($35).

After lunch we decided to go to the beach, another entry way we had not tried yet. Down we drove to Grayland again only now we took the middle beach entry. The sand was much much softer than on the first beach I went to with my scooter. Of course I was stubborn and tried to go anyway and of course I got stuck with the lovely scooter, poor thing I abused it horribly! W. did a professional job of getting it un-stuck, proof than men get much more stuck with stuff than we women do because they have more experience getting un-stuck. Makes sense doesn’t it? ;-)

Anyway, I left it there and slowly make my way over to what looked a comfortable place to put my behind on. It was, for a few moments, than the Lotte decides that as close to me as possible is a perfect place to dig a hole to Germany, throwing all the sand my way. Of course Fynn-boy saw the action and needed to take part, he probably thought Lotte was digging the hole for him to stay cool, little prince that he is.
Lotte has always been fond of the beach and for as long as I can remember she has been digging holes as big as possible and than lies in it or ‘accidentally’ rolls her tennis ball in it so she has to dig it up again, so funny ;-)

Lotte digging the hole

And more

And there is Prince Fynn, lying in his cool hole!

and Lotte digging a new hole ;-)

It was really windy today on the beach, a kind of wind that blows the sand everywhere, between your teeth, in your ears, your nose, between your bra, just everywhere. And just when you open your mouth to say something especially wicked and funny to your husband the wind blows a large amount of sand while you breathe in into your mouth so you spend the next 5 minutes chocking and cursing while husband looks on in bemusement.

Here are our pics for today, on our 'private' beach.

Went home after we were all tired of chasing balls, moving around in the sand and the wind. At home tried to get rid of all the sand which amounted to a nice private beach indoors. Took my siesta and had tea later on again on the balcony. I know it sounds boring but it is relaxing and we enjoy it ;-)

Dinner was lasagna from the store bought lasagna and after updating this blog and selecting photo’s it’s off to bed.
Will read some in my new book, Ask The Cow.

Tomorrow is another day!

Misty at first but promises to be a beautiful sunny day with 72 F or 22 C.

Today we’re planning to drive to the South end of the beach called Tokeland name after the Native American Chief Toke of the Chehalis tribe who used to spent his summers up here with his family and further down the 105 to the small town of Raymond, turn around and drive back. We will make a stop at the point called Wash-away beach. The beach was named Shoalwater Beach after the Shoalwater Tribe unfortunately because of the way nature works parts of the beach and dunes have been washed away, hence the name Washaway beach. I also hope to stop and look for some nice pieces of drift wood and shells to build a windchime/mobile at home.

After another breakfast of French toast and bagels and a cappuccino and latte for W.at the local espresso drive through (why they call it espresso drive through is still a mystery to me, they don’t serve any espresso at all!) we’re on our way. Still have to get used to paying tax on stuff. We in Oregon don’t have sales tax and I now notice how convenient that is.;-)

First stop is Washaway Beach, pretty soon we see the big signs placed on the road preventing you from accidentally driving onto the beach, which would be a steep drop! It’s a pity the weather is still hazy and misty so photos will not do the beauty of this spot justice. W. goes out to have a peek and see if it’s doable for me to walk there, the pups have to stay in the car, too dangerous. I can already picture the disaster of one of them running and disappearing over the edge and we who are not able to get him back and have to call the rescue crews. Can you imagine? I can! As I said before I have a vivid imagination ;-)

It was okay for me to go out and have a peek myself so on I went. Not much too see except for the erosion and the obvious broken off piece on dune. On my way back W. took some ‘lovely’ photos of my trying to keep my balance in the soft sand and not show anyone how much it hurt me to walk.

From Westport July 14 2009

Photos below speak for themselves. Have any one my readers also got a husband that takes unflattering photos of your behind? Look at me, tending to the pups who lord knows wanted water, a biscuit, a ball or just plain annoying because the wanted out of the car and run on the beach. While I, as the caring person, that I am tend to that, my husband snaps pictures of my unsuspecting but.... need I say more?

From Westport July 14 2009

I did have my revenge though, while he was taking ‘artistic’ photos of the road I snapped his but with my small camera. that will teach him ;-)

From Westport July 14 2009

After this interesting intermezzo we hit the road again to a spot nearby where many cars and trucks were spotted with people looking for driftwood and other goodies. I hoped to find an agate or a glass float but no such luck, found some nice pieces of driftwood and no shells at all! What’s up with that? Wrong place for the current to put any shells ashore probably.

Dogs had a ball chasing balls and digging for treasures, I was the one who was busying herself with making artistic photos of very large pieces of driftwood and the sea behind it. Still have to work on it, no, I’m not going to show them here on my blog for the whole world to see. You’ll just get the touristic version ;-)

From Westport July 14 2009

We drove on to Tokeland, located at the Willapa Bay. Tokeland is home to a small Indian reservation, the Shoalwater tribe and has a casino(of course;-)), a state of the art health and wellness center sponsored by the Shoalwater tribe and a 9 hole golf course. When you drive through it it’s gone before you know it. It’s a tiny place on the map and the reservation is one of the smaller ones, it’s only 1 mile long.
The harbor was a gorgeous place where we took lots of photos of the floats the water and the mountains across the bay.

From Westport July 14 2009

Onto the town of Raymond which was a bit of a disappointment, industrial, worn out after recession also took its toll here. Lots of restaurants and cafes were closed and boarded up, we hope to have lunch here on a nice patio but no such luck. The only place to eat that we could find and that my iPhone directed me to was the Dairy Queen. Oh well, we had worse than that ;-) I had a shrimp basket and a nice ice cream cone with caramel and pecans! YUM.
The only thing interesting about Raymond was that they had these wonderful metal sculptures throughout the town, I tried to snap a few pics of them but unfortunately there always was a run down building behind it, or a boarded up restaurant as background. Too bad that small towns like this don’t survive these hard economic time.

From Westport July 14 2009

From Westport July 14 2009

The drive back to Westport was gorgeous, beautiful views, with small hilly countryside and the blue pacific as back drop. i noticed as we drove back a small store in Tokeland I didn’t see before, Chiefs Toke Tobacco and Gift Store that was still open. Will have to go back there and buy a birthday present for my son in law RenĂ© who’s birthday is coming up next week.

Just like Tokeland, Raymond and closer to Westport the small village of Grayland, a lot of stores, gift stores, coffee places, restaurants and all boarded up and closed. Even this modern Condo complex isn’t filled up with tourists. I think only a 10% of the condos are occupied at the moment, of course it doesn’t help that all amenities are closed, people will stay away or will not return for a second time. I guess its a chicken and egg problem.

Speaking of eggs, we had a simple dinner of sandwiches with a ham and cheese omelet, espresso on the balcony watching the stunning sunset and now time for bed.

Nite nite!

Monday the sun is out and it is 70F or 21C with a nice soft wind and some white wooly clouds!

Oh dear oh dear what a night... again! *sigh* really have to insist W. takes up sleeping quarters in the living room on the comfy pull-out bed because this ain’t working. After about 2 and 1/2 hours of sleep my feeling was that I wanted to go home. No matter how beautiful and lovely it was here i just wanted to go home to my own bed and sleep. All my joints and muscles hurt like hell and there is that overall achiness that you have when you haven’t slept for days, that spaced out feeling like you’re not from this world. And if you feel like that you can’t enjoy your environment either, all your energy is focussed on staying alive and surviving another day. Adrenal insufficiency is not a good illness to have if your sleep pattern is off, you will need to function on adrenaline and will surely crash and burn, crash and burn.

For being such expensive and on the surface, good looking condo, is sure has crappy beds and a crappy bath. One would think that they could have at least put in some nice mattresses for that price! Anyway after shedding some tears of frustration because of the lack of sleep W. convinced me to stay, sleep on the couch that night and make me a lovely breakfast of bagels, cream cheese and French toast but most importantly a nice cup of espresso made with the wabbit. For those of you who do not have a wabbit at home here is his pic, you need to get one. It’s the most simple and the most original way to make espresso. Water and espresso on the bottom, put on the stove, wait for it...... it bubbles, it’s done. YUM!
We call it the wabbit because of it’s funny ears of course ;-) It’s just big enough of 2 cups of espresso and easy to take along and does th job just as well as my expensive electric 17 barr espresso machine.

After breakfast, getting dressed, rest for a bit we leashed the pups, started the scooter and went to walk/drive the trail through the dunes that starts in front of our condo. It’s totally hard surface so wheelchairs, bikes, rollerblades and moms with strollers can also enjoy it. The trail is 2.5 mile long and all the time you have the few of the coastline, the sea and the dunes. Gorgeous! The sun was not too warm and there was a nice breeze. We were the only ones out there, it’s so quiet even the complex of condos itself has only a few visitors. I thought it would be packed this time a year but apparently the economic times also took their toll on this part of the country.
We unhooked the leashes of the dogs and let them have the run of the path, their noses worked overtime, they had a blast sniffing out all kinds of wonderful new smells and every little grass blade needed to be chewed on and tasted. I have a strong feeling that Fynn was a cow in a prior life, the way he eats grass as if it’s the finest cuisine ever. Well maybe he’s right and do we humans not know what we’re missing by not tasting those delicious grassy blades. ;-)

Along the trail are 3 viewing platforms were I took some nice pictures. I’m still practicing with the new camera and look forward to the new course I’m about to take. We didn’t walk all of the trail but intend to walk the other part from the harbor. The trail goes all the way from our condos to the harbor. The spot where the surfers enter the surf we turned around.

Photos below are from the trail through the dunes. Again, click on the images to see the larger version!

Didn’t do much the rest of the day, had lunch, did a little reading, W. went swimming in the pool, I had my siesta(if I didn’t have those I wouldn’t make it through the day!).I didn’t the shopping for dinner and cooked tuna in creamy Alfredo sauce with chives and onions and spinach fettucini with a salad of Roma tomatoes, olives, cucumber and a balsamic vinegar dressing. Coffee on the balcony, end of the day. ;-)

W. has folded out the bed now and it looks comfy, he and the pups will sleep here while I will occupy the bed of horror by myself tonight.

Have a good one you all!

Rain rain go away! 52F today or 12C.

We woke up to a gray sky, the weather channel already warned us that there could be rain today but we didn’t worry about it. After all we’re from Portland, Oregon where they call rain 'liquid sunshine' and are used to a bit of a drizzle.

After breakfast we drove to the harbor to check out the boats, the boardwalk, the small shops and the restaurants.

Westport is really hub for fishing addicts, everything one would every need to go deep sea fishing is available here. Billboards with advertisements for charters line the roads, one more adventurous than the other, boats with glass bottoms so you can see the fish were also available.
We didn’t see the charters go out because they leave very early in the morning around 4 or 5 AM.

We did see the boats and small sheds on the floats that sold fresh fish, cleaned and well, caught just hours ago. Of course we bought some fresh tuna loins, nice large pieces for $5.00!

The rain kept drizzling, luckily the stores on the boardwalk were partly covered so we didn’t get too wet. I had my large black cape with me that covers my legs nicely when I’m on my scooter. It has 2 sides, one is black and water proof and the other is gray-ish with read and blue stripes and is a kind of fleece. It also has a hood that can be taken off, it’s my most favorite thing to wear when we go out on a trail of park. It’s always warm, I don’t have to worry about getting it dirty with the dogs and all. It’s the best bargain I ever bought on Ebay, I got it for $3.00 and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Of course I could not ignore the 'specialty', the salt water Taffy's, I bought a pound for $4.50 and stupidly lost it when we got home. I guess I placed it on the roof of the car before I got in, *sigh*, it’s not the first time something like that happens to me. ;-) Now we will have to go back ;-)

After dropping off the Tuna at home and in the fridge we went to the beach in Grayland. The beaches in Grayland have beach access for cars, meaning you can drive your car on the wet sand of the beach, rules of the road are in place, like right of way etc. ;-)
Grayland is famous for it's cranberry fields. 30% of the cranberry juice in the US stems from the cranberry fields in this area. It's the home of OceanSpray!

Today was also the last day of the kite festival that I really wanted to see. Those large kites are also so impressive I think and the ones that they make dance to music are also great fun to watch. Unfortunately because of the rain there were only a couple of kites bravely in the air. They sight was indeed gray because of the weather and very few people were on the beach.

Here is a photo from the day before.

I for one am very grateful that you can drive with your car on the beach because it means I can drive my scooter on the beach and have part of the fun! Who knew? I never expected to feel the soft beach sand between my toes again in my lifetime! I can hardly walk from the kitchen at home to the living room let alone walk on a beach! Imagine my joy of being able to drive my scooter on that beach and sit in the sand with my tootsies stuck in the soft sand! Pure ecstasy! I lived and worked on a Dutch Island called Ameland in the North Sea, for quiet some time and spend many many summer and falls there and learned to love the sea and the solitude of the beach. I have such fond memories of friendships, fun, laughter, loyalty and the smells of sunscreen, salty air, wet jeans and all nighters! ;-)

The dogs had a blast on the beach even though the rain still drizzled, they didn’t seem to mind at all and neither did we. Lotte looked 10 years younger, her long ears flapping in the wind and she would run after the tennis ball. Fynn being his usual happy-go-lucky persona has fun no matter where he is as long as we are there and he can chase his ball.
It was great fun and our heads felt clear, all worries and stress of the last months blew away and we could finally laugh out loud again for a change. ;-) After an hour and a half we went back home. My dear old scooter had no problems at all with the wet sand, even though I’m a voluptous person and we load all the bags, the ball, water and the camera bag onto it ;-)
See the slideshow belo for our Sunday beach pics.

Please click on a photo to go to the album and see the larger ones.

Within 5 minutes we were in our temporary home again with buzzing heads from the wind and rain and exhausted puppies. It was time for my siesta, W. went to the store to get some stuff for a salad and a baguette to go with the tuna and salad. The restaurants here do not have patio’s dining unfortunately which means we will have to eat at home. We won’t let the dogs in the car by themselves, we didn’t bring their crates as there was not enough room left in the car. Oh well, we’ll just have to do some more eating out at home and to be honest, what can beat the taste of freshly caught tuna, seared in butter with just some salt and pepper, a lovely salad and a crusty baguette?

In the evening we had tea on our balcony, than while W. prepared supper I just enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxed.

It’s time for bed now and lets hope that we will get some sleep this time. Last night was horrible as I predicted W. threw himself around in the bed like it was a trampoline, and even he admitted he didn’t sleep well. i got about 3 hours of sleep i guess, every time I dozed off I bounced around in the bed again because my DH did not lie still ;-) *not to self; tell W. about the couch that turns into a queen bed when you pull it out. Maybe he wants to sleep there by himself*.

Nite nite all!

Today was 89F or 31.5 C when we left and when we arrived in Westport it was 59F or 15C and cloudy.

All in all the trip took 4 hours with rest stops for potty both humans and canines, in those 4 hours the temperature went down to half of what it was! Oh well, I don’t mind, it’s the fresh sea air and finally no warm and sweaty at night! ;-)

We meant to leave yesterday but life got in the way, things took up more time than we expected and we decided to leave the next day so we would be rested and relaxed. We planned to leave at 9:00 AM but it was closer to 10:30 AM. W. over slept and didn’t wake me up. I didn’t get to sleep before 7:30!!!! AM!
Stress, wired, exhausted, warm, nausea, pain, dizzy and irregular heart beat problems when I turned to my other side etc. I saw the clock go from 12:30AM to 7:30 AM, tossing and turning, heard the birds started to sing and the light and world came to life again.
So I didn’t mind a bit when W. slept until 10:00, at least I got a couple of hours sleep, how I manage to function anyway I really do not know, but it can’t be right. ;-)

While on the road I snapped a pic of my DH. behind the wheel, pretending it’s a Ferrari in de F1 ;-)

I printed out Google’s directions and when I wasn’t paying attention for a moment W. followed the instruction of his GPS who sent us on a completely different route. When I started to realize the road we were driving on was totally different from one I had printed out it was too late. Turning around would mean a loss of time, strangely enough the GPS told us the time it would take for us to drive the last 22 miles would be 90 minutes while Google said 35 minutes. Why, I have no clue. It’s a French GPS so best not to ask too many questions before you know it she’s pissed off. ;-)

Of course it didn’t take us 90 minutes in about half an hour we arrived at the condo complex. It looked very nice, right on the beach and I could already hear the waves crashing ashore.

W. was going to look for the condo and open the door, it’s on the 3rd floor but he couldn’t find the number. I knew it was on the corner but he didn’t look at the second door and that was our door. So off to the office he went, came back, went back up and now had an ‘aha’ moment and found the door. Men! I’m equally as bad when it comes to opening locks though ;-) Thank God we had an elevator, there was no way in hell I would be able to climb those stairs every day. The pups were very excited, Lotte went in the elevator as an old pro, after all she has lived in an apartment and in hotels before in her 14 year long life! Fynn on the other hand went in fine the first 2 times after that he refused to go in ever again, we had to drag him in, didn’t take the clicker with is so we could practice and didn’t have liverwurst on hand to brag him. Now W. takes him down and up the stairs every time he has to go out.

The condo is absolutely very nice, modern and on first inspection everything seemed to work, later we found some things that do not work so well. The bed for instance, is horrible. We choose this condo because of its king bed, we cannot sleep in a queen bed together. W. is a notorious tossing and turner and that keeps me awake all night. He doesn’t just rolls himself to his other side no, he THROWS himself around. The bed has one of those spring mattresses, really uncomfortable, it pressed on all my trigger and pressure points and within an hour I was hurting like hell. Thank God for pain medication, it did take the edge of for a bit. I slept for 3 hours that night, and that on top of the few hours I slept the night before was enough to brake anyone down.

The bedroom door doesn’t close, which is annoying if you want to take a nap and a puppy keeps running into the room jumping up and down on you wanting to play and be with you before running off to see his dad if maybe he wants to play and than that same sequence again and again and again.... The blinds in the living room look very fancy, those blinds that can stay either down and have the top open or up and have the bottom part open. Well, neither configuration worked, the down part was down when we came in but it gives you the feel that you’re in a hospital and no view to the gorgeous outdoors so my engineer hubby fixed it so it will stay only up for now. At least we have light coming in and can view outside. It has a nice balcony, we can watch the sea to the left and the lighthouse to the right, the dunes and grass in front it us.

Top floor condo all the way to the left is ours.

View to the left from the balcony:

View to the right to the village:

There is a nice fireplace and the bathroom has a jetted tub, I looked forward to a soak before I would take a nap, some well deserved rest.
I turned on the faucet and filled the bath with lukewarm water(hot or warm water makes me faint) and got into the tub which was really nice, deep and big, it fitted me nicely. I relaxed my sore body and turned on the jets looking forward to a nice massage. To my horror all kinds of stuff came out of the jets, gross stuff and blue bits which looked like plastic. It almost made me vomit. I quickly got up, or as quick as I could, pulled the plug and turned on the shower to get the gross stuff of me. EEEEEEEEEWWWWWW, did I feel nasty and dirty! I have no idea what it was but I sure won’t use that tub again! *GAG* If the tub would have been new than I could understand the blue plastic but it wasn’t. It’s a couple of years old.
Anyway, we quickly put that out of our minds. The agency we rented the condo from isn’t on the complex but in another town and I will sure let them know.

After I rested for a while we took the dogs to the beach. The path to the beach is paved so I can drive my scooter up there but the last part is sand and I had to walk. That is not something I can do again, it’s uphill and I just can’t do that anymore. I sat in top of the beach access dune while W. took the dogs downhill and play ball on the wet sand. They went wild, so happy and full of joy! It was great watching them so excited and especially Lotte acting so young again, like a puppy. After an hour playtime my but was starting to hurt on that uncomfortable hard place and we went home to make dinner. There’s one grocery store in town, The Red Apple, and W. did some shopping while I had my siesta. Had a pizza, watched some TV and made plans for tomorrow. After breakfast we will go and check out the boardwalk and the marina and see what the day will bring is.The weather forecast said rain so we’ll see, for now some sleep would be nice ;-)

I brought my pillow and my own duvet and thin but comfy blanket with me, I have this thing about sleeping in beds other people have slept in. I try not to think about it too much but it grosses me out. No matter in which luxury hotel I am it still grosses me out. I have a silk sleeping bag made in New Zealand for me, it’s a travel silk sleeping bag the size of a twin bed, with a pillow cover attached to it. You put it on the offending bed and sleep in it. It holds up really well in the washing machine and rolled up it takes up little space, I take it everywhere I go with me.It’s nice a cool in hot weather and my comfy blanky is made from some kind of fleece and is nice over the sleeping bag when it gets too cold. So off I am, hope for some sleep and we’ll talk in the morning!

Nite-nite all!
